LG TV awarded 'Best HDTV' and 'Best of Show' at CES 2012
LG Electronics bested other major electronic brands at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) held at Las Vegas, Nevada last January 10 – 13, 2012.
Amongst the multitude of products featured at the much anticipated event, LG’s 55” inch Organic Light Emitting Diode TV (LG 55EM9600 OLED TV) was awarded by CNET for ‘Best HDTV’ and ‘Best of Show’. CNET, an acclaimed tech media website on technology and consumer electronics, is considered a major authority in world tech news. CNET’s ‘Best of Show’ award is annually given to the gadget that was most recognized and affirmed during CES. ![]() The LG 55EM9600 OLED TV awarded 'Best HDTV' and 'Best Show' at the CES 2012 by CNET The prize-winning LG product is actually the world’s largest OLED TV with a display size of 55 inches and an aesthetically pleasing slim and narrow Bezel design that is only 4 mm thin and a mere 7.5 kg. When viewed from the side, LG’s OLED TV practically blends into the wall. More than aesthetics, the LG 55EM9600 OLED TV incorporates the company’s 4-Color Pixels and Color Refiner features generating the most natural, accurate, and consistent colors of any TV. The 4-Color Pixels feature is a unique LG innovation which uses a set of four colors (red, green blue and white) in comparison to the RGB setup used by other OLED TV manufacturers. Color Refiner ensures consistency in colors from a wider viewing angle via an LG algorithm which improves and refines hues and tones. CES attendees can attest to the TV’s sharpness of colors and details, preserved with utmost clarity, even when displaying scenes with dark lighting. At 1,000 times faster than LED/LCD displays, LG’s OLED TV shows crystal clear motion without any blurring or bleeding. LG’s new OLED TV was not the only show stopper at CES. Committed to providing a truly unique and authentic user-experience to its TV viewers, LG introduced its latest TV innovations. New Magic Motion Remote The New Magic Remote control maximizes user convenience with a new set of functions and an improved ergonomic design for an easier grip. The functions are Voice Recognition - allows users to quickly enter text for speedier browser experience, the Wheel - located at the center of the remote helps to swiftly scroll up and down various menus and apps, the Magic Gesture and Pointing features - allows to simply point the Magic Remote toward the TV screen and drag the on-screen cursor to make selections, while physical Magic Gestures can be inputted to control the TV with simple arm or wrist movements. The new 3D button undertakes 2D to 3D conversion with a single click of the button. New 3D Glasses Credited for introducing the first 3D glasses that virtually promises no eye strain, LG bested its already impressive design with its latest CINEMA 3D glasses, improved in feel and fit through the curved lenses and a clean frame structure. To be introduced within the first quarter of 2012 are its newest collection of 3D glasses, including a pair 3D eyewear by renowned designer Alain Mikli. The new 3D glasses -- the F310, the clip-on F320 and the Alain Mikli F360 -- are lighter and more comfortable, but still provide the signature “shutter-free” and flexible 3D experience that is synonymous with LG Cinema 3D Technology. Immersive 3D Sound LG also introduced its new home theatre system made to complement 3D display products by further enhancing the 3D home entertainment experience. The BH9420PW is the perfect companion to any 3D TV, as it combines superior quality sound output with 3D Sound Zooming for an immersive 3D experience. 3D Zooming Sound is a new sound technology that uses an algorithm to generate sound output based on the varying depth of numerous on-screen objects displayed on a 3D TV. Viewers can feel 3D movements through the sound, allowing for a more immersive viewing experience. Smart TV Over the past year, LG has elevated the user experience of its Smart TV function by adding over 1,200 apps and a range of premium content services. NetCast, LG’s own Smart TV platform, has been upgraded and an integrated search function has been added to allow easier and quicker access to content. In turn, popular search words can be used to search through LG’s expansive Smart TV ecosystem. Social networking services (SNS) on LG’s Smart TV now permit users to “share” and “like” what they’re watching. NetCast will be the platform in approximately 60 percent of LG’s flat-panel TVs introduced this year. CINEMA SCREEN Design The CINEMA SCREEN Design is featured in middle- and high-end 3D TVs from LG that will be launched during the first quarter of 2012. The CINEMA SCREEN Design reduces the bezel of 3D TVs to just one millimetre, creating a more optimal and comfortable environment for immersive 3D viewing, reminiscent of a movie theatre. LIGHTTPD
