Official UEFA Euro 2012 Android App Released In Google Play Store
One of the soccer’s most prestigious and eagerly anticipated tournaments, UEFA Euro Football Championship, kicks off in Warsaw in June (2012), where some of the best teams from Europe will compete against each other to be labelled the best for the next four years. As Spain prepares to defend its title, and Slavik and Slavko (tournament’s official Mascots) get ready to welcome fans to this sporting gala in the wonderful stadiums of Poland and Ukraine, you can now catch up with all the latest UEFA news on the go via the Official UEFA Euro 2012 app for Android. Apart from a good-looking interface, the app packs the latest news, schedules, match previews, reviews, complete lineups with detailed statistics, team formations, photo galleries, standings, social feeds and lots more. It also sports a dedicated video center that brings you the latest video highlights from various UEFA Tournaments, video interviews and news. More to follow.

As of now, as there is no live action going around, the app can be used to learn about all the various teams participating in the tournament, event fixtures, all the spicy news that contribute in the build-up of the event, and all the big claims and challenges made by coaches and players alike. However, once the tournament gets underway, you can set the app to keep you apprised of the events regarding all the breaking news and crucial matches via push notifications. You are also presented with the option to pick your top three favorite teams whose progress you wish to follow keenly throughout the tournament.

Once that is done, you will have the flags of your favorite teams displayed at the top of the app’s main screen followed by the latest news regarding the tournament and all upcoming matches. Tapping a team’s flag lists all their scheduled matches, detailed lineups and player statistics.

The menu button in the top-right corner of this screen reveals the app’s main menu that lets you navigate to team pages, matches, news, photos, the video center, social media, and the app’s main settings screen that lets you toggle the app’s live ticker and push notifications regarding various events during or after matches.

The News and photos segment is split into two halves. The top half of the screen displays all the latest news whereas the bottom section shows all the photos featured on the tournament’s page. Tapping a photo displays it in full-screen along with its details.

Barring the Free Content section, all other options within the app’s Video Center are empty at the moment, but as soon as the tournament begins, you can check the latest video highlights from all the matches at the end of the day. The Free Content section, by the way, contains videos showing the tournament’s news and interviews.
