PNoy, Grace Lee Together Again?
It was an event for President Benigno S. Aquino III and his rumored girlfriend, the Korean radio-TV host Grace Lee, to be seen together again, during the concert of Sergio Mendes and the Brazil 2012 Tuesday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City.

Their being seen together dispelled the rumor that they are no longer dating. The President, taking time out from the rigors of the presidency, brought Lee to enjoy a night of Bossa Nova music from Brazil.

With several members of the Presidential Security Group (PSG) in tow, the couple arrived at the coliseum past 9 pm Tuesday and sat at the lower box section. For the one-night Mendes gig, Aquino wore a gray short-sleeved polo, ditching his usual work outfit of white polo barong, while Lee donned a light blue cocktail dress.

Both Aquino and Lee were in a casual and upbeat mood as Mendes and his band performed “Mas Que Nada,” “Girl from Ipanema,” “The Look of Love,” “Fool on the Hill,” “Going Out of My Head,” and other light samba and jazz hits.

Tagging with the dating couple were some of the President’s family members and close friends. Smart Araneta Coliseum was more fre¬netic than usual as several PSG men were guarding the venue’s entrance gates.

In February, the 52-year-old Aqui¬no admitted he was dating Lee but pleaded for privacy concerning his personal life. The Chief Executive was reportedly first attracted to Lee when she hosted a Korean-sponsored event in Cebu last year.

Also spotted watching the concert on Tuesday night were former Presi¬dent Joseph Estrada and his wife, for¬mer Senator Loi Ejercito, who were both seated on the front row. The former President was popular among concert-goers as he gamely posed for pictures with some of them.

Other personalities who saw the Sergio Mendes concert were Transportation Secretary Mar Roxas and wife, Radio-TV host Korina San¬chez.

Early on during the concert, Men¬des greeted the audience in Tagalog, declaring it was “great to be back” in the Philippines.

“Masaya ako nakabalik ako Pilipi¬nas. Mahal ko Pilipinas,” the Brazil¬ian artist said, adding he has “won¬derful memories” of the Araneta Coliseum where he performed several times.

“We love to come back here because I think Filipino people and Brazilian people are very similar. We’re both romantic people. We like to party and so I think that brings us together,” he said.
